Shooting a Soccer game with DVX

It looks cool?

Ya, shoot a high shutter speed, since it IS an action sport, which involves fast movement, therefore, you get no blur.

You can also use B.Press, for some vibrant colors.

Shoot the main things. Breakaways, close up of players, get some of the crowd, and then have fun during the edit...

Good luck!

I personally shoot squeeze for football to get more of the players and blocks that are going on around the ball carrier. I shot a game last night field level with my dvx on 30P Squeeze 120 shutter (the lights did not allow for anything higher). I had a vx2100 taping from the pressbox area. We showed both angles today on a projector, and everyone was amazed at the difference in sharpness and clarity! I will try to post some grabs or footage later, if I get the chance to.

And like TheComo said, look for things... signs people dressed for the occasion, cheers, yelling, of course the game!

dont zoom in too far or else youll lose the ball. keep the player with the ball on the edge of the screen opposite the way they are running and dont jerk the camera if you lose the ball just pan and slow zoom out then in when you find it. soccer is a pain to shoot:kali::kali::kali::kali::kali::-Cry(DBG):

Just got back from the game. Use 1000 shutter speed, and in the slow mo bits its looks awesome. Got some great angles on the corner kicks. Will post once done editing!
