SGpro grabs

They look a little soft to me. I too have the rev3, and I too started with smettli's settings, only to find out that I think his glass has a lot to do with how great his footage is looking (sharp).

I'm shooting on 50mm nikon also, and I've found that upping the detail level to about +4 give's a nice crisp, and noticeably sharper, image than the -detail settings without adding any video-esque artifacts. Still looks very organic.

Timur and a few others shoot their detail setting all the way up to +7, and I don't disagree at all, but for my nikon 50mm, and the SGpro rev 3, +4 or +5 works best.

Try it out and I'll bet you agree.

You're totally right, a lot of the weight lays upon which lens you ahve on your adapter. And it's pretty easy to just shoot an object and switching through your detail levels and check out the grabs later on.

That's exactly how I came to my +5 setting. I left my cam static on a nice, bright outdoor shot, started at -4 and stepped up and documented every step after that.

Then when I imported the footage, +5 (or +4 in some cases) was the easy winner.

Trial and error my friends...

On a dvx yea i go as high as +5 - +7 on occasion.

but in HD, i prefer to keep it neutral 0 to like +2. The hvx's edgeenhancement is Ooogly. even if it means a percieved softer image, i shoot wihtout the detial too high then add a hair of edgeenhacment in post if neccesary.

wow great Oedipax

how bout slower lens, have you tried out any yet, slower=f2, f2.8 or >

Not yet, but I did order a couple more lenses off eBay. A 24mm f/2.0 and a 100mm f/2.8. I'll report back when I've received them and had a chance to test 'em out.
