SGpro grabs

These are taken from the footage I've shot with the SGpro so far. Nothing crazy, just making lots of test shots around the house and figuring out what works best. A few of the shots have a little fall-off around the edges, it's the result of shooting f/1.4 on my 50mm Nikon. I've tweaked it a little (zooming in a tad more helps) and it's not showing as much now. Overall, I'm VERY pleased with the adapter! It's the rev. 3, if you're curious. These were all on the 50mm Nikon.

Several shots of my dog doing stuff:

Hey, same settings as me :) Looking good.

Oedipax,
Hows your adapter with light loss, are you gonna have to buy more lights?
Are you gonna cook your talent? lol

It's not that bad, actually. You definitely gain a new appreciation for the stock DVX's low-light capabilities, but I'm a big fan of natural light and I don't feel like this is going to hamper that too much. Don't tell anyone, but I think you can get away with using a little gain at times, too: +3db is sometimes all I need to get just a little more shadow detail.

What I do notice is that, with the adapter, it at least feels like if something is lit, it's really lit, and if something is dark, it goes really dark, really fast. So when shooting subjects in a high-contrast setting, I feel like I do need some fill light or maybe just a bounce card. Unless of course you're going for that cool high contrast ratio look where maybe the half of someone's face not facing the light goes almost completely dark. You also see shadows under the eyes for otherwise reasonably exposed subjects, so another reason to figure out how to fill it in a little.

The adapter definitely forces you to consider your lighting arrangements more carefully, but I see that as a good thing. I think if you're resourceful, you can still avoid having to do really intense hot lighting. But it also depends on the style you're going for, if I wanted a really evenly-lit 'bright' look to my indoor footage (like a lot of comedies use) it would definitely require some major lighting. Moody and dramatic is a bit more flexible in this regard.
