Hello,

Next week I'll be shooting a chromakey with the C300 MK II, the end result will be full HD, but I'm thinking in shoot at 4k / 10bit for extra detail.
Profile suggestion?

Any 4K mxf file sample I could download to test in my system? (any footage, don't need to be green screen)

Thanks a lot,
Ulisses

I would consider shooting 1080 12 bit 444 for chroma. Without having any test footage, or having tested it my self, the added color information should be rather nice for chromakeying.

Do a solid job of lighting your back ground and subject correctly , maintain good separation between subject and background, manage any green bounce on the subject . Once you've got that, the XAVC codec - 10 bit -160 or. 12 bit 444 in 1080 04 10 bit in 4k will be way more than adequate for your needs.

Shot 4K 10bit for full body key a few months back.... mounted the camera 90° to maxamize resolution. Like most chromakeying... light it properly and you'll get a good result. 10bit 4K on C300 Mark II will do wonders. I also was set up with an Atomos Shogun to throw on a LUT and do some ProRes backup... even though I'm pretty sure even the camera proxy would have sufficed. ;)

I'll try and find some shots to throw your way.

Early in 2016 I shot a piece for a corporate client, the ultimate display format was 7000x2000 pixels projected on a 100 foot wide screen. We shot head to toe Green screen with key individuals in different parts of the country in 4k 10 bit with potrait framing (camera rotated 90 degrees on lens axis) the final composition used head to toe framing, cowboy framing and MCU framing all punched in during post from the original head to toe 4K. In the end the technical part of the keying was trivial. If we didn't have to do all those punch in in post we could have shot 2K 444 and done optical punch ins on the lens, but as it turned out due to time constraints, the 4k route was easier and worked perfectly.

Thank you so much guys.

I'm still not sure if I shot 4k 4:2:2 or 1080 4:4:4
Some years ago I could extract great keys fron RED camera with higher resolution and flat image (it was also a blurred footage)

It will be a medium long shot

I'm editing in FCPX, and I didn't tested any file to check how it handles 4k or 4:4:4
