Better just switch to Premiere Pro.
They are both excellent pieces of editing software. FCP X offers a few more bells and whistles, while CS6 offers a few more workflow advantages. I would heartily recommend either.

+1Time to update to FCPX.
So basically I'm just supposed to switch to another NLE after all of my years of experience with FCP plus all of my licensed programs I have bought for it? Finally many people I work with in the industry still use FCP
...Yes, because Apple is not planning any real future for FCP, so it's going to keep falling behind as new CODECs and file-formats become the norm.
With any luck FCPX will eventually grow to become a viable replacement for everything that FCP can do, but the full transition may take several years.
All of the FCP editors that I work with are now using both FCP and some other editor to get their work done. ( for some it's FCPX, for others it's Premiere CS6 )
Instead of using the transitions or getting another NLE, try manually key-framing the opacity. I'm surprised no one mentioned this yet. Won't take very long to do either.
Curious as to why your shooting 60p instead of 40% slomo?
i shoot a lot of video in my new gh3 in .mov format 50Mbps. But in fcpx (mbp 2011 - 16gb ram - ssd) i cant play smoothly those files…. a lot of stuttering.
Then transcode to proxies and edit. When done, throw away proxies.i shoot a lot of video in my new gh3 in .mov format 50Mbps.

avc intra plays fine, so as gh2 files i have (in very high bit rate - driftwood hack).
Anyone else can confirm this ?
I dont transcode any files , just import them in native format… i cant wait for transcodig big files.
i dont think its a problem of cpu power… because Premiere cs6 plays them fine.
CS6 may be using your graphics card ( GPU ) to decompress the files in real-time ( makes a huge difference with the right video card ), where AVID and FCPX only have the CPU to use.

FCPX does use the graphics card when the correct one is present.
Just for my own info, does anyone have a link to a list of the video cards that are supported by FCPX ?
