Sci-fest - The Prizes and Rules

never ever heard of that being called Stunt Design.. and I hang around with Stunt Co-ordinators more than I should. I'll take your word for it though.

And it doesnt relate to sound.. but we dont have any sound prizes so its the next best thing. If youl have a problem with it, if your short wins im sure you can give it to someone else if its a moral issue ha ha ha.

Have you started shooting yet Norm?

  1. I was kidding around ... then again, I AM pretty good at that game Balderdash (sp?) ... basically a game of B.S.
  2. Ah, no. I'll keep the crane, thanks. (if I got best sound ... which, now that I've landed the AKG 480b/ck63 combo, thanks to MattinSTL, I at least won't be out of the running)
  3. I'm teaming with waltind on this. Finished the script this past week, auditions are this Wednesday, and we shoot December 9-11 to bang it all out in one weekend. Lots of time for post.

back on topic...

There is a DV Sportster now to go with the Flowpod. Man, I sooo want 2nd place + Best camera work

It's a complete rig with the Flowpod, the DV Sportster, the low angle attachment, and nice travel cases. It's definitely a sweet bit of kit. I have a full review that should be posted this week.

it's an amazing prize and value ...
i was already stoked about the flow pod -- just being able to run and gun, then drop the leg and get some static shots -- but the price for that complete systems is awesome too when you compare it to simmillar items meant for heavier cameras, but we don't need something for a heavier camera!

I also wonder if you could use the monopod as a makeshift / impromptu crane, like extend it and just muscle it like a boom pole from point A to B while the flowpod keeps the camera level ... hmmmm ...

Can I enter this contest with Music VDO w/ XL2 24p 16:9?

Can I enter this contest with Music VDO w/ XL2 24p 16:9?

Hi Jarred,
Can I enter the contest using a music vdo with "Challenging the Times" concept using XL2/ 24P/ 16:9? If yes, do I send a QuickTime file to your web address or a DVD? Is there a physical address we send it to?
Thanks so much,

Zia

* Use a DVX100 or HVX200, shoot 24p and 16x9 (either squeeze or letterbox)

* Films made with other cameras will be accepted for exhibition, but not competition.

It was just going to be simply Jarred's EX...
...but there were legal issues

nobody would want her. Trust me. I would hafta include a truck load of cash and 3 years worth of drama pills to compensate.

ha ha just joking.

Sony just kicked in a copy of Vegas+DVD for best edit award. Things just keep getting better and better.

That is awesome. I know that I don't have a shot in hell of winning, but it is really exciting to be part of this contest.

you should rent Jarred's dvx for something nominal (with insurance) and make a movie with that so you can win it
