Samyang E-mount parfocal AF 24-70mm f/2.8

[ahalpert]

Samyang has a new full-frame midrange zoom with autofocus for Sony cameras that they claim is parfocal. $1K: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1668139-REG/rokinon_io2470afz_e_24_70mm_f_2_8_af_zoom.html

This is the first zoom lens that I know of to be produced by Samyang.

I think you can also switch the focus ring to aperture control so you can open and close the iris manually and steplessly

They have a 650-1300 F8-16 zoom that is sold as Rokinon.

But this is a different market.

The lack of OSS in so many nice Sony lenses is such a killer. Until gyro-stabilization is improved I'm hesitant to get anything without OSS unless I am near certain it's the type of lens that will live on tripod shots.

I didn't know about that. yes, that sounds like a horse of a different color

yeah, it's all mirrorless-oriented gear. if they're planning around IBIS, then the motivation to add the cost and weight of OSS is hugely diminished. and that equation sort of leaves FX-owners who want AF lenses out in the cold

Yes, I spotted it here. Worth checking out I think.
