Same Day Edit - Wedding Highlight

[vinnyminton]

Vinny,

Its Lenny Levy, the cameraman who worked with you and Justin at Point Covallo last year.
I finally got my feet wet on the DSLR scene with a T2i and have been thinking of calling you anyway - so I have lots of questions. ( By the way I bought an indieslider after using yours.)

First off - The video is drop dead gorgeous - quibbles are totally minor - I can't believe you knock it out the same day.

So here are the questions:

How many cameras? - all DSLR's ? Do you prefer working with 5D's or are 7D and T2i OK for this kind for shoot also.

Lenses?

How do you break down the roles for each camera?

What kind of a steadicam are you using and what other movement gadgets do you typically bring - dolly? slider?

Do you worry about audio and the vows etc or is that "old fashioned" for a wedding video. Do you have to sell them on the idea of a "music video" type piece instead of a typical boring wedding vid.

Post - what was wrong with the FCP Pro Res LT method?

Oh yeah - you could answer this in an email if you like but I'm curious - what do you charge clients for this and how many people on the crew.

Levy!! Nice to hear from you see!! As for cameras.. Depending on the wedding, it can vary.. but we own 2 hvx's a 5d and a 7d. We pretty much use the hvx for audio... Im thinking of selling mine soon.

As far as rolls. For the ceremony we have the 2 hvx's on the sides over looking the brides shoulds looking at the broom, and the other over looking the grooms shoulder looking at the bride. These are typically med to tight shots. Then we have the 7d shooting down the isle and 5d I fly around getting broll shots and put on the slider..

I still use the indislider although I've networking with Dennis at Cinevate and hopefully I will be using there slider soon. For flying I use a glidecam 2000hd, no vest..

We were charging $2700 for SDE's (really cheap) but just raised our prices and now are charging $4400.. I have all next month booked for SDE's I can use some help let me know if your interested..
