Just stirring the pot.Really? I can't stand the 1DC at all. The rolling-shutter when in 4K is ridiculous. And the files sizes of the MJPEG, considering it is only 8-bit, are simply too large to justify the image it gives - which I've found doesn't grade very well. Anyway, to each his own![]()
There are some rumors around 1699$...

It actually does kinda make sense: A7S is actually a limited stills camera in comparison to the A7 and R, its value is pretty much 4K video and 1080 video with insane lowlight performance, and DR.
I wouldn't expect it to cost more, but could see it costing less. Put one in everyone's pocket... like the Pocket Camera... =[ Only with a not-so-amazing codec.
Available Q4.
Only about DOF...? Apples to Oranges. Film doesn't apply on digital sportsBasically super 16mm sensor size vs almost Vistavision sensor sounds like a huge difference to me...
Dont be sad you can already use Blackmagic Design Ultrastudio Pro for 4K recording

The first images from either camera, without specs to glance at, it wouldn't really be a question...A7S
Where is this magical Sony clip showing huge DR...haven't seen it yet.
If it does capture 14 stops, it's all due to the image processor. It's a misconception around here that 8 bit can't do more than 12 stops. Yes it can. Just not very well because you lose a lot of that luma sampling in the fine precision of that sampling range.
