This film is already looking a lot more interesting than "Left Behind" or any of the sequels and they paid millions to make those. I used to be a big fan of LB, until I learned the theology was way off. They had great production values but if you didn't read the books you wouldn't care. The first "Leap" had a lot of flaws, but I did care about the characters. The story in itself was actually good. The only issue was some of the character motivations, but beyond that the story was decent. This looks like it will be a lot better in terms of production, but after Leap2 you might want to make a prequel for people who don't know much about the Bible or what this is all about or why certain things are happening in the series. It's hard to explain everything. Everything about the Endtimes scriptures.

I like the prequel idea. Kind of a remake of Leap. I might do that. Or maybe a Leap 1.5 that builds upon the prolouge of this movie (it's a collection of scenes that take us from the last movie to this movie in about 3 minutes). Also, one of my commentaries on the DVD for ROTB (I always include four commentaries) will be a theology one where I'll explain where the ideas in the picture come from, how the scriptures point to the Vatican and the United States, as well as show how the futurist interpretation is wrong. I might even make up a small study guide or something that will be included as an insert or can be downloaded from my site.

**My Workflow**
I finally managed to get my workflow video on the web. It's a 900 MB downloadable .mov and is 30 min long. The one change I've made since making the vid (besides darkening Vegas) is that I now use a $20 script for AE to swap out the files instead of doing it by hand like I show. Other than that, what you see in the vid is what I do now. Enjoy!

MPEG Streamclip, which is used in the video, can be downloaded here
You'll also need the AVID DNxHD codec from here
Also, both conversion steps can be done at once, I just separated them for the video.

can I see your dog caps before you corrected them? Just curious to see how the raw footage looked in comparison

Great tutorial Chris. The offlining will be good for anyone in a situation where they're on older computers. But what I really liked was the color correction tutorial. That was awesome. I think CC is one of the big things that differentiate a Hollywood film from a backyard masterpiece. Most of us don't do CC or don't do it well.

Glad you liked it Nate! Version two of the video will look a lot better and also include mixing as well as exporting your master and getting 24p onto a DVD.

I have zero concerns regarding projection. My last film (Leap) was shot on a Canon ZR800 and it looked amazing projected in the theater, even though we didn't have any red color signal (technical issues). And this was an old school 500 seat theater. If a movie shot on consumer SD equipment looks that good, then there's no reason why a DSLR movie shouldn't look better.
