Reset AG-HMC150?...

from page 83 in the manual ....

if you wish to initialize the user file and scene files at the same time, the user file and all six scene files can be restored to their factory default settings by selecting YES for the MENU INT item on the OTHER FUNCTIONS screen

here is the manual
http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webap...oreId=11201&catalogId=13051&modelNo=AG-HMC150
(click on Operating instructions) get some quality paper and print this out and get it bound at Kinkos ... keep it with you ... read when stuck in traffic etc.

It's explained in the manual.

That's interesting, because I spent a good part of an hour the other day just trying to locate it with:

reset
default
factory
settings

and couldn't find anything

And there no button reset like the 200

Where is it????????

Seriously, I can't find it.

I'm the one always telling people to read the manual first.

HTH,

Baat you beat me to it.
Panasonic calls it initialzing.
This is what they did to MrFluffy and Dino (hpx 170) cameras when they send it back . Jan called it resetting the camera.

I got one to but I dont like pdfs that much.

And resetting the camera also helps if you're having trouble with noisy footage.

The OP asked "How do you completely reset the HMC150 to its original factory settings?"

That is different than resetting user/scene files.

HVX200 has a complete reset and a button to do so; HMC150 doesn't appear to.

Page 126 of the HVX200 manual:

"System resetting

Reset the system microcomputer if you can no longer operate the camera-recorder even though its power is on or a similar kind of a problem has occurred.

Use a pointed object to press the RESET button on the camera-recorder.

The menu setting entered and memory contents will not be cleared even when the system is reset."

A RESET button is good for cameras that have a tape deck and is useful when an error occurs with the tape deck or tape.

To reset everything in the camera, even the scene files, you have to go in the menu:

OTHER FUNCTIONS / MENU INIT / Yes
