:grin::grin: LMAO!

Subtle, but hillarious! This post wins the thread.

Is it me or does it look a bit too big? I mean look at the size of that box! I hope the design is somewhat refined before delivery. Yes yes, I know it says "Cinematograph". But I do do alot of ENG and documentary work so I'd like it to be practical.

I love the fact that the wedge in picture is modular.. It seems to be the way this stuff is headed for Indy film makers. Modularity is king: Dont like the picture? Just replace it. Thats upgradability ladies and gentlemen. I heard RED was experimenting with the same replacable sensor technology.

When do reservations close again? I'll be sure to fax in mine to abu dhabi quite soon!
i laughed reading all the awesome posts. ehaha.. love the sense of humour around here! but the one quoted above made me almost suffocate...
i totally laughedMAO on this post and every sentence of it. sorry sir reservations stopped at the turn of the century.. lol but do try sending us a fax..you never know you might get a calculator. but the wedge thing really is just hilarious i cant figure out what it could be used for.. im wondering if its like one of those bathroom peeping tom gadgets.. were you wedge the lens at the top or bottom of the door.. and view whats going on from the viewfinder.

i was at the gas station.. and there are plenty of toys and the guy who works there saw me and a freind of mine laughing so hard on it. taking it out.. posing it for a shot.. putting it back. and everyone there had the wtf face on without a single idea of what is going on. it was like time stood still as they watched us laughing at it. lol.

firewallet - glad ure physical went alright. yeah inshallah it'll be released to the world at nab =p

George Lucas will love this camera! He can finally get Wedge in picture! Not just his Snow Speeder.

Appearently you can use it as a projector and a music player. It's going to be some real tough competition for the RED. With the the RED ONE, you have to shoot, edit and then project. This one can project straight from the camera! And you can even add music to your movie without a computer, just give it to your composer and voila! And they even got the price right! The RED ONE is $17,500 and this is only $3.47! I can't believe it.

This is the camera for me.

i don´t want to sound to sceptic, but

- the manufacturer has no proven track record
- they didn´t show any moving images yet
- the industry is using
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toy_camera
since years, so i doubt this new camera will be able to have enough grain to shoot a goodlookin movie on it.

- the wedge-workflow has not been proven yet.

also, the packageshot looks like cgi to me.

I hate the rush to proclaim everything "vaporware". Give it a break. It says right on the box, "Coming soon!".

Oh, and for your info, laguun (if indeed that is your real name) this will be a Pixelvision buster. The future is wedge, my friend. Get used to it.

Yes, they do have a snapshot of a moving image. Here it is! I'm going for it. It produces just as beautiful subjects.

that looks like CGI -AND- doesn´t have enough grain! Anyhow, i have to admit that the skindetail is awesome. even better than super8.

i forgot to say: this footage is bad. real footage contains at least porsches AND bubblegum. or at least sunglasses.

And he is also a giant compared to his Canon EOS 1Ds Mark II.

Stop trolling. With a development team that includes none other than Jimm-Luc Jammard, Grain Mattress, and Johnny English--when they say "super funny function 4-in-one", they mean it.

Proof? Look at the sunglasses they produced: no cgi here.

They know how to do things wedgy.

apparently this camera is pretty darn famous huh.. dammit i totally didnt expect that. woahhh!!. lol.

I think I speak for a lot of people when I ask:
How well does this work for those of us who do most of our work in the post production industry? Has anyone unwedged some green screen footage yet and tried to pull a matte?

I'm going to demand that RED has a "Wedge in Picture" feature. We've just got to have that!!!!

Graeme
