Red Scarlet footage anyone?

So funny because I feel the exact opposite. I always hated Avid and am so glad I switched and am never going back.

It took me two attempts until Avid clicked. Once it did, I could never go back to editing in another program. But it is nice that their are options for everyone.

After Effects is still a must. Avid FX I am not a big fan of.

I have to admit, I love the highlight handling. And knowing its RAW, it could have been graded any number of ways.

Not to go too far off topic, but while you guys are focused on the highlights, all I am noticing is the pretty girl slap-dab in the middle of the frame.

While we should strive to make the best looking images possible, it's all about content. Throw in some hot chicks, a couple of explosions, a car chase or two, and guys like me will forgive some clipped highlights.

That looks amazing. Even Dustylense liked it! Wow! The end of the world is near! ;)
I never said I don't like RED or Scarlet. It's just not for me being the workflow and ADDED costs to shooting RED. The one thing I like about RED is Redcode. I am however favoring the C300. And I feel the C300 if shot next to the scarlet on this video would have done just as well.
Scarlet will do well. I do not doubt that. It's just not for me or I'm just not ready for it. Let's just wait for HDSlr users to start posting stuff. Let's see if Scarlet made them a better shooter...After they post their receipts of total costs that is.

I will still stick to this though. Is there really only 1 Scarlet in the hands of people that ordered it? We have yet to see any test involving high gain, whip pans for rolling shutter. All we've seen is 1:30 of footage from 1 guy. This camera is RELEASED and I've seen 50 times the footage from the C300. Whats going on here? How come nobody that ordered has posted anything. 1 guy, 1 cam, 1 minute 30 seconds.
So when the C300 releases, you will see a flood of footage (i mean, you can edit some samples in Imovie even).
So as the thread says, "Red Scarlet footage anyone?" Still stands....

THAT'S better. White car still holds detail, along with the dark shadows just above it. I can't tell if the top of the car (to the edge of the frame) is blowing out, though...

You can't tell from the grade whether a highlight is actually blown or not. You can grade to blow highlights in a final image that are not blown in the captured raw data.

This is a grading question, but to anyone else, does this shot have a lot of green tint to it? Especially in the skin tones. I am NOT judging the quality of the captured image by the camera, just the choice of grading. Wondering if it is just me? :)

There is a little extra green there. A lot of green would be bouncing of the foliage, so I guess it would be a matter of taste.
