So according to these tweets, at the beginning of this week the scarlett was only quad HD? 3 years in the making and they make a huge change like that 4 days before the announcement? yet they plan on shipping

1080 is 1920 x 1080. To close to 2k. So more than likely 1k is 1280 x 720 or something like that.

1080p is closer to 2k. 1k is approximately 1000x500 (if it's still 2:1), or somewhere between 480p and 720p

You're telling me this does 4k at a HIGHER data rate than Red MX ($25,000) and is in an epic body? This depreciates Red MX worth to unknown levels over night if this is true

Thinking about it maybe if it does depreciate the cost of a red one heck I'd still buy it. That would be sweet if someone at red said, ok, this is how we give them 4k for 4k. we make a camera that'll kill out previous one, which is still pretty kick ass, but worth much less next to our offerings. If this is true I would so get a used RED right now. I have no problem with a REd one those things are nice.
