I'm shooting a commercial next Monday with the HVX200E and the director would like to capture the footage direct to his macbook to edit on the set. But we want to record to the cards at the same time.
So I wonder if the HVX200 can output firewire video while its writing the P2 cards. It doesnt need to be HD, just SD will be OK.
I attempted to do it in FCP but when I hit either Capture Now in the soft or Rec in the camera, FCP crashes and says there is no video. I actually never tried or needed to capture HD direct to laptop thru Firewire so I have no experience in the field. I don't even know if it is possible. I did try SD direct capture with good results.
Know there are other options such as using the composite out and go through an A/D converter, just wanted to know if the former was possible.
I'm sure it's been already covered in this forum but I've vainly tried searching it with no result. And the 60 seconds pause between search got me crazy, so I just dared to post.
Thank you all, you guys rock!
Simismo.
