Recommend me a good wide angle lens...

I had a shoot today for a real estate agent taking video of a home. I used the T2i with its stock lens (18-55mm) and soon realized I needed a wide angle lens. Now, I don't want to break the bank, so what lens would you recommend I purchase?

Depends on what you mean by "breaking the bank." The Tokina 11-16 is fantastic, at $600.

is 18 not wide enough?

Go alot wider and you will start introducing distortion...

but, yes, the 11-16 and 12-24 from tokina are you very good and well respected lenses

Would you say it's worth the price to invest in one rather than using the stock lens, primarily for real estate?

Of course, and it holds its value being an f2.8. Its cheap for what it does, and definitely a must have lens.
Andsince it doesnt have a manual aperture ring, it is the only "native" canon mount lens in my arsenal, the rest are adapted nikon mount lenses.

You can use it on a ff 5D at 16mm and that is still pretty much wide.

Heres some samples:

Under water shots all used 11-16 tokina.

yes, specifically for real estate, I think it can pay itself very quickly: rooms look a lot bigger when your FoV is 90º wide!!
(I'd definitely use this lens if I had to sell my house)

everybody says the lens is as sharp as you can have at this focal length and price

Title say's it all. I really like this lens and am now using it on my AF100, as well.
