Re: World's First Electronic EF to NEX Adapter!

I got one. No there is no glass. However, the firmware reported on mine is v '00'. Metabones was helpful with instructions on how to return it to have v '02' installed.

Interesting shape of the opening. By chance does that help reduce sensor reflection/ghost images mentioned in another thread?

Steve Doc Maker - Thanks for sharing your experiences! What do you mean when you say the IS is noisy? Does it add noise to the image? Thanks! Kyle

I wrote metabones twice now and still havent had an answer about where to buy it in Europe.... any who can offer this info?

Metabones adapter, " 24-70mm Lens Matbox Extention" ...and NISI Fader ND Filers

I've just got my Metabones Canon EF Lens to Sony NEX Smart Adapter http://conurus.com/sony/buy-eos-nex-adapter

.... and it's work PERFECT!! :)

At first I took little tube and make hard support to it:

..and now, when I torn "Iris wheel" on FS-100 - it change the aperture of any of my Canon-mount Lenses! -->

... and Image Stabilization work perfect with my Canon 70-200 F2.8 L IS lens! I tested my Canon 16-35L, 24-70L, 70-200/2.8 L IS and Sigma 50mm F1.4

..Also, as you have 24-70 lens, I would recommend you to make this " Matbox Extention" I did:

at first - usial problem with 24-70 is the different distance to front element:

So.. I'v got this...and cut it .. :)

.... I place it here ( Lens in 70mm position ) -->

Lens in 24mm position:

than.. I did this:

...and finally put black duct tape on it ...

...that's it! ..... I DON'T need to change the position of my matbox when I shoot with Canon 24-70mm Lens!!! :)

..and tomorrow I'll get new NiSi Fader ND filters Set !! -->

This is SET of 67mm, 72mm, 77mm and 82mm filters ... As soon as I get it.. I will make a TESTS and REVIEW about it!! :)

Just got a mail back... hehe, now I asked very specifically about their European distributers since I live in Europe and don't wanna deal with customs and tax. The response I got back was that I now was on a waiting list and would receive an order confirmation... hehe, how's that for an answer to my question :D

Shot my first real stuff with the Metabones adapter this week, could not be happier. Did have a little glitch when there was a click and the 24-105L that I was using stopped responding to aperture dial on the FS100. Turned the power on the FS100 off, then on, didn't seem to fix it. Removed the lens from the adapter and put it back on. That reset it. It happened once in a 7 hour, nearly continuous shoot with the Metabones. The clicking people talk about is just psychological because the turning of the SF100 aperture dial is smooth and silent, so the slight clicking of the lens aperture itself stands out more, but it is actually, I think quieter than on my 5D.

I was shooting in a church with dark foreground and bright stained glass, and had a little of the 'sensor reflection' problem, I had no filters in front of my lens at that time. Used Frank G's new GLOG 1.1 B profile, found the GLOG 1.0 A kind of 'crunchy' once it was graded. We'll see how this works out.

+1 for the Metabones, great, simple design, good price point, eminently useful.

Great to hear someone actually testing the metabones on an fs100!. So an important question: does the IS image stabilization work on the lenses you tested?
