This is what I do when I am bored and am too lazy to take my camera out and shoot something new. I RE EDIT!

If only I could edit out the crap on my lens, it totally ruins everything...

What did you use for the color correction? And is the slowmo at the end using twixtor?

Loved the colors!
 
Man, those colors look fantastic! Always impressed with your stuff.

I'm also curious as to what you use for your slow motion shots. Also how you get such great colors out of DV. Do you work in a 720 timeline?

Thanks for the responses guys, I am glad you like the footage despite the large speck of dust on the image. To answer some of your questions:

jacobdeane, Marlon & Mr. Herron: I used a combination of a bunch of built in Vegas filters (3 way, tint, saturation, contrast) to make the majority of the changes. I then used the gradient exposure tool in Magic Bullet after being inspired to learn how to use it from a Philip Bloom video I saw online. It is really cool how easy it is to bring back some color or data in areas that lost it when shooting, like the water in my case. The last shot was done in twixtor. I still have no idea how to use the program, but somehow it still makes good results, even with 24p footage.

mack: It was all DVX, still have not made the move to HD other than using other people's cameras when I can.
 
Seeing what you had to work with (and it wasn't THAT blown out), you did a great job.
And of course Bloom's working with the EX3's 1080; a little more to work with there!

Speaking of him, it's interesting to see his raw material in the tutorial.
Sometimes it's hard to tell what his camera (and those he tests) look like because he's such a master grader.
It'd be interesting to see his all of raw material, then his CC, then his MB work, all separately.

I'm still amazed at the results you got using twixtor. I must be doing something WAY wrong because I constantly get the "warping" around edges. Seems as if I'm using too high of a shutter, or too low.

Either way, like I said before, great work!

Yeah, I get that a lot too. When the footage is close to static I think Twixtor works a lot better.

I used Twixtor for both of these videos. I think it was right after I started using the program, came out pretty nice.
