Ramjet Films presents "Re-Birth"

I can imagine it would be very hard to be both in front of and behind the camera at the same time...especially if your crew consists of you only.

Yeah. I figured that out Saturday. It's not so much being in front of and behind in terms of directing and acting. It's more all the other things. Lights, sound, etc. Trying to focus on the other details and then sit down to act.

Really, I am just making excuses. :)

I will have someone to hold one of the camera's for me today, hopefuly, in a two person scene that I'll be shooting. But, I'll still have to plan it, set it up, show him what to do, etc.

I may try to reshoot Saturday's shoot, after we film this scene tonight. I'll just look at the footy and see. I don't have the time to plan and re-shoot, etc. right now. So, I may just have to go with what I have. I'll be spending a lot of time in post, and I need to get that done so I can send it off for score. Post is going to take me a while to figure some stuff out.

Anyways, I shoot tonight. Then I should have most of the stuff shot at least. I just will have to spend a day or two next week getting a few non speaking scenes filmed. If I can be done filming by christmas, I will be on my planned schedule. That will allow two weeks in post before I have to send it off for the score to Leo.

Yeah, it's hard when this stuff is a hobby and only a select few enjoy the hobby with you. Usually my crew is my brother and I and if we are lucky another person or two. Finally this project we have a couple more but I couldn't imagine what you are going through, trying to to do the setup, direct, and act. I'm sure it will still be great though. Good luck man.

P.S.: Maybe you could just get someone you trust just to watch your performance even if they didn't know how to run the camera at least they could tell you how your performance was.
 
UPDATE:

I will have grabs from the shoot Saturday, and possibly from the shoot that is planned for this evening. I will try to get them up tonight. If not, they will be up tomorrow sometime. They will be raw grabs. No correction. Straight from the camera.

Lol. Geez. I missed some stuff. Sorry, I was out of commission.

Pics will be up in a few hours. As soon as I get home from work, that I just drove an hour to get to, and then realized they didn't tell me they changed the schedule, and I don't have to be here!.

Anyways, filming did not take place on Monday, but we did make some progress. I am now going to be filming that scene that was intended, next Monday afternoon. I will film another scene that Monday morning before work.

Other scenes should be shot during the rest of this week and weekend. Sooooo, if all goes well I will be done filming after next Monday. But, I think I want to re-shoot some or all of the scene that you will see grabs from. They will be up. Just let me get home :)

Thanks. Yeah. I figured I'd at least put a full rez image up for a little while anyways.

That is the cleanest footage I have gotten yet. I was real happy with the quality of the picture, not so much with the acting :)

Very clean... excellent job on tweaking those settings.

Hey, Can I ask what your workflow is? Like how you download your P2 cards. Do you use the P2Genie or just the P2Viewer?

Jeremy- I am just offloading the p2 cards via my laptops PCMCIA slot onto an eSATA setup that I have running into an eSATA card via my lappy's expresscard slot. So. p2 to PCMCIA, to eSATA drives. My eSATA setup is just to 320 gig SATA II internal drives in a Thecuse 2050 enclosure. Raid 0 on the enclosure. Contiguous Raid 0 on my expresscard eSATA card.

I'm going offline to get access to those eSATA drives right now. I forgot to turn them on, so I have to restart. Then I will post some more grabs. They will be forum friendly, and will link to a fullsize if you want to see it. But they will be pretty much what you are seeing already :)

I'm uploading some more grabs from that same scene right now. My upload speed sucks big, so it'll take just a little while. They are the fullsize images in bmp. I will also upload (like I said) some more size appropriate ones for here on the forum and they will link to the 2.63 mb 720 files if you want to see the full thing.

The grabs do look a bit washed out compared to what I am seeing in my NLE. Anyways, give me about 30 minutes.
