Ramjet Films presents "Re-Birth"

OK. UPDATE:

I'm going out of town for a couple of days for the USCIS stuff, I was talking about.

Shooting is planned for this weekend and monday. I will be shooting two main scenes over those days. That will be about 70-75% of the script. There is one other "main" scene, and about 4-5 smaller ones that will also need to be shot. Planning for those is not set yet, but probably over the next 3 weeks. I want to be done shooting by the end of December. Hopefuly by Christmas.

So y'all are fixin' to make this movie yonder in Alabamie? :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Non Drama-Fest Update:

I'm pissed off.
So, I'm sitting here in a hotel in Birmingham for an 8am immigration appointment for my wife tomorrow.

I sit down, log on to DVXUser, check my email. We have an email from our immigration lawyer. Attached is a form stating that my wife has to get a physical from a civil surgeon and has to get documentation of having received certain vaccinations, etc. (This we knew) What we didn't know is that immigration will not proceed with her applications at all until they receive this information, which will cost us another 400 dollars. We were told by our lawyer, that it would be something we would be able to bring (sealed) with us to our interview which will be in 6 months to a year (this is for her adjustment of status to permanant resident). We were told that the physical has absolutely no bearing and is not a requirement for her work permit.

This form says that she is unable to receive any kind of work authorization, nor will they begin processing any of that information until 90 days after they receive the sealed documentation requested from an authorized civil surgeon. So now, instead of her having her work permit within the next two months, and us being on our way down the long road to her adjustment of status... We are now looking at a minimum of 4 months before her work permit or any of her immigration forms will even begin being processed.

Why am I pissed. Because you pay a lawyer 2k because they are supposed to know these things. You pay a lawyer 2k because they are supposed to make sure every piece of information is there, and every form is filled out to a tee. If it isn't you have to start the immigration process all over again, and you have to pay the 1k in filing fees to the government all over again.

This is why you pay a lawyer. What have I gotten for my 2k that we didn't have in the first place. I could have screwed it up myself! And saved 2k!!

Why is it that a guy on a terrorist watch list can become a U.S. citizen and end up working for the C.I.A. and my wife, who is one of the hardest working, devoted people out there, with more education than 80 percent of people in this country has to deal with this? Maybe I shoulda left the last part off. Ah, well.

Anyways, that's my rant for the night.
The internet is very fast here at the super motel 8, by the way :)

Hey man, sorry to hear the trouble there... Hoping for the best! Keep pressing on with Re-Birth... as I think it'll be fantastic!

Thanks guys. On the immigration subject. Thank god my wife is super smart and brought every piece of paper she had. Our form from the gov't said to bring a picture I.D. (no pun intended, Ted:) ) and that form. We get there, and they wanted her marraige certificate. Thanks for the smart wife. Then they wouldn't even let me in the building. Then, I was standing outside with the baby, and they told me I couldn't stand there, and that I had to go away. Punks. Anyways, still waiting to hear back from the lawyer to hear what she has to say about the recent turn of events (misinformation). That part is extremely frustrating. I hope it doesn't turn out like a guy we know, who it took 11 years to get his work permit, and 13 to get his green card.

UPDATE: Concerning Re-Birth, I noticed the link to the BTS interview on my main post was bad. It is fixed, for anyone who might want to check it out, who hasn't yet. For those of you who have, it is the same one, so don't worry 'bout it :)

Later,
Jason

Yeah man, good luck with all the red tape that is the US government (sometimes I think this country was built on half brained lawyers out for themselves and no body else)... I hope it works out.

Thanks guys. I'll try not to make my thread here be my personal venting place. But, it's the only place I got right now:) But, I don't want this to become political either. That would suck to have my drama fest entry thread closed :)

Anyways, it's getting worse. Just to be brief, if someone can explain to me how something that takes 180 days can fit into 87 days, I will do whatever you want. Well, there is only one way to do that really. But that is not to be spoken of :)

Anyways, back to "Re-Birth". Still on schedule. Still planning on shooting this weekend and Monday. That should be about 70% of the script right there. So, if I can get that accomplished as scheduled, I will feel pretty good about where we are on the process.

UPDATE:

Shooting for "Re-Birth" will commence in about 30 minutes. I need to shave, set up, and learn a few lines, then I'm after it. I'm planned for a big shoot today. It is just me today, though. This can carry over into tomorrow, if necessary, but I am hoping to get what I need today.

Monday is planned for another big shoot as well.

Ok. Here I go. Off of DVXUser, and onto trying to make a movie.

Jason

Jason, wtf??? That is some crazy sh*t I'm reading here about your situation. Jeez, I hope you get this all worked out!

HOW WAS YOUR SHOOT???????????

Very anxious to hear a report, buddy!

Shoot was... Ok. This was the first time that I produced some absolutely, completely clean images with the HVX. So, for that it was real good. The acting part of it was... ehhh. Wasn't too impressed with myself yesterday. I am realizing it's hard to focus on acting when you have to do lights, sound, camera, and everything. :) I don't think I am going to have time to re-shoot the scene though, so I may just go with what I got yesterday.

I'll look at the footage again, and if it is "useable" then I'll go with it.

Next shoot planned for tomorrow.

Thanks everyone,
Jason

Oh, man.... you didn't learn from my lessons???? :) It is certainly tough to shoot and direct yourself! Good luck man. I know that you are a wonderful actor... just get all that camera stuff set-up and then drop into actor mode! I know that you can do it!
