Quick roast question.

I just threw a 1.7 kg sirloin roast in the oven. In a covered pot with 1 cup water in hopes of making gravy afterwards. Oven set at 350F.

How long do I cook it? Is this enough water? Tips?

-Thanks.

1.7 kg is 3.75 LBS

I'd think it'll take a few hours but am not sure ?

The water is fine.

Invest in a slow cooker; cook all day and come home to goodness

Blaine. ? A veteran like you does not know Gravy?

I guessed at 1 cup water and it looks about right so thanks JR.
I can make the best dogs and burgers but roast is a new one.

Slow cooker? mmm.
I should watch Ratatoulie again. They say 'Anyone can cook'. We'll see :)

Actually, gravy's fine. I just couldn't get the Chicken Run scene out of my head after reading your post...

In fact, tomorrow I'll be cooking rack of lamb with garlic mashed potatoes, washed down with generous amounts of Chateau Monbousquet.

Thanks guys, now I'm hungry for something dead. With gravy.

Lamb with garlic mash .. oh man that sounds soooo good. With mint jelly on the side, MMmmmmmm

- Mikko ... heads to the kitchen, and possibly the store.

This is making me hungry.

My dad makes a nice meatloaf. He uses three meats, nice and tender, wrapped in bacon, and a delicious sauce. Mmm...

I'm a simple cook. Throw on some pork chops and eat.
