T2i question with iPhoto

I see iPhoto imports the video file as .MOV files - Will that work with Final Cut Pro instead of converting it in compressor?

Not definitively, as I don't use iPhoto, but I don't see any reason it wouldn't work. Final Cut Pro can pretty much load any .mov file, in my experience.

Your video files appear on your SD card as .mov as well. It's still an h.264 file. When iPhoto imports it, that means it's only transferring the file and not transcoding it. You'll still need to convert it to a proper editing codec, so you're really just adding an extra (and rather pointless) step by using iPhoto.
