Question about P2 off loading and storage

Shooting a feature on Hvx200/720PN. Editing in FCP. My question is, I will be offloading the P2 files via a Gateway PC laptop. Will there be any compadibility issues with off loading onto a PC laptap and then transfering that to a hard drive and then importing into FCP??? Thanks Tim

No problems. On the laptop, use an external hard disk to offload to, and format that external hard disk as FAT32. When you're done offloading you can unplug that drive from the laptop and plug it right into your mac and import the files from there.

Or you use something like MacDrive 6 on the PC to enable it to read a Mac formatted external.

Why Fat 32, whats wrong with NTFS??

Because it is the only file system that can be written to on both the PC and Mac without additional software. Since the P2 cards use FAT32 themselves, they will never contain files that won't fit on a FAT32-formatted hard drive.

If you only need to read from the drive, use NTFS, it is far more robust and efficient.
