Question about editing 7D native--FCP or Avid?

I like the FCP workflow. Edit straight from the H.264 or use MPEG Streamclip to ProRes or Compressor to ProRes. Easy.

(And to prevent warring, I'm not saying Avid is hard. Just saying FCP is easy.)
 
No luck on the Avid demo. I've signed up from two different accounts and not gotten the auth in email. maybe they slammed...
In the meantime, I'll be checking out Lynda.com and doing some comparisons that way.

I think there was a screen before that you were supposed to check "30 Day Trial"

I think they email you a auth code for the trial
 
What about Final Cut Express? I understand it's pretty much identical to FCP, but dirt cheap in comparison.
