You can get a 28/2 in ZE mount and you won't even need an adapter. The Zeiss 28/2 distagon is legendary.

ZE = direct mount, no adapter necessary, but also - no aperture ring.
ZF = Nikon mount, you'd need an adapter, but it also has an aperture ring.
If you're only ever going to use it on a Canon body, the ZE is the better choice. If you may move to Nikon or other cameras in the future, you might want to consider that aperture ring, and that Nikon mount is more adaptable to other camera bodies than Canon mount.

I'd definitely say go ZF. You never know what new camera you will want and nikon lenses go on almost anything.
