Hi, the audiorecorder is in a risky position.
Is there something i could buy to put the audiorecorder right on top of my canon 60d?
Thank you in advance.
Julien
Either would work fine (the ballhead is more essential if you're relying on the recorder's internal microphones as you'd want to retain the ability to direct it's aim, but not important if you're simply using it as a bridge to connect other mic's to your camera).
Look at this. I use this basic model with a quick release (Manfrotto 577 takes 501PL adapter plates) in the bottom (on top of the bottom plate) so I can slide cameras in and out as needed. I had to order a couple of cold shoes from a vendor on amazon, but this "cage" works very well for me. GB-2 adds rails, GB-3 adds rails and a top handle.
Or for a cheap & simple solution for gear without 1/4-20 holes, get a Sennheiser hot shoe mount for the G2 or G3 wireless receiver. It's sort of a flat plate with a shoe. Velcro is your friend in this case. Twenty bucks or so.
Then you can lose the strap. Having a strap on a camera for video always drove me up a tree. Get some swivel-snaps if you need it for stills.
