PUSH - Directed by Matt Sconce

UPDATE:

Whew! Some effects shots are done with many more to go. The After Effects workflow is working nicely, because all of the clips are already in there for FX work.

Ooooooooooo! I liked the shot you showed me last night. Very nice! I have never seen that effect in a movie before. Kenn is sure agile.:D

I'll help you Mark. You are too important to be rejected.

AW SHUCKS! Thanks Gary!

I have to build some wire work rigs and I have a couple of designs floating around in my head for a gimble/sled device... once I get it worked out, do you think you can help me build it?

Of course! Mr. fabricator to the rescue. Have diabolical mind/cutter/welder - will travel. Seriously, I have ideas on your wire rig too. We have to talk. You will have to spell out to me what type of movement you need your actor/set to exactly do and we will build the device to perform the task.

1 day service! :D

Glad your post workflow isn't causing you to go crazy and go into Grand Theft Auto mode...red footage has and still is the bane of my existence.

crimson hasn't helped out geoff?
I'm going to try it out soon. Right now I don't want to change anything in my FCP project until I wrap up post on this latest project. Should be a few more days and then I can experiment but I've heard good things. Also, sorry I never called you back; with Brandons shoot and all this post work piling up from other projects, things were a little crazy the past two weeks.

With all that floats around in your head what's a few more designs...Hmmmmm?

What are you thinking with gimble/sled needs? (Chomping at the bit here...)

BTW, added more parts to the pile that will become the "Hyper-cam" today.

Can't wait to see it...

As far as the sled thing, I will make a 3D mock-up so we can see it with a camera in the computer. Once I have a working model I will draw up some basic plans and then you can make practical sense of them. How does that sound? Should be next week some time. Still working on first pass of Fish Bomb...

Okay, I want your opinion on these stills from the title opener. The premise is Growing or fading light with text revealed. Here are the many different versions. With the knowledge that this movie is about time and action, which title is most visually fitting in your opinion, and Why? Thanks!

I like C or D... cause I like retro font and the LCD font has been used a little too much. I would go with black unless you treat the text with a growing motion blur or something to spice it up.

C or D Matt. I like C as it conveys a lot about what is in the film, but it is a little too bold a font size. I like D as it is really clean and the font is correct in size.

Option D for me  I hope that glowing gradient circle in the background is pulsating or growing from the center out or something cool like that ... get Mark on it he does that fancy FX stuff doesn't he? :)

I guess it would depend on the movie. I like G personally.
Does the movie really have to do with a button? If so I would probably make a 3D joint.

Thanks guys! Just workin hard on the effects now to get the crucial moments in there for the sound and score edit..

Wow, you are getting close. Nice.

I am getting the bearings today for the 'Hyper Cam' and have finished with the construction of the spring support section shell. I have to get two more bolts for the three axis gimbal today.

In the midst of this all, Mark and I just found out we were nominated for an EMMY for a Educational Weather Program we made for children. We find out if we win it on May 10th. I would then be able to say I am an Emmy winning Cinematographer/Editor. That would rock. Okay...back to Push...I will hopefully finish a large chunk of the VFX tonight.
