PUSH - Directed by Matt Sconce

Good luck Fresno guys. Let's have some real Red schoolhouse rock!!!!

THE SHOOT WAS GREAT!!!!!

Well I don't know about that, but I will tell you that the shoot went really well. I know Matt will have a lot to say, but I will put a couple of comments down and that those would be BLARE MEDIA rocks. Justin and Ian, were amazing. They brought their RED and many toys and they were awesome. What a relief to have talented invested guys to run the camera and handle lights and so much more. They were quite the blessing. We have one more weekend of PUSH shooting and then we will move on to Shooting NETHERBORN. I hope we don't were them out before we get to NETHERBORN!

We shot a few NETHERBORN shots, but really we are going to film the bulk of it later after PUSH.

As a whole, our team is GREAT... as always and our actors ROCKED big time. We had some awesome performances and so beautiful photography. I can't want for more.

I will leave it at that and let Matt take it from there.

time to sleep now!!!

Hey Matt and Mark,

What's the status of SLEEPER??? Are you continuing to work on it?

Well, funny your should mention that. We decided to make it a feature. It is included in our slate and we will pitch it as such. I don't know if we will finish the short or not. I have to talk to Matt and see what he thinks.

:cheesy:

The shoot went wonderfully. I second the fact that the guys from Blare Media were amazing. The Red Camera perfomred gloriously and brought a freedom to help me express exactly what I wanted in this first shoot. Thank you to everyone who helped and put in the hours! Mark, of course, I couldn't have done it with out you. You Rock! I look forward to Netherborn Shoots!

Here are some Behind the scenes photos!

Great BTS Matt! You boyz loos so excited around that RED ONE! Very cool.

It looks like this lens is emitting light... but that certainly is not the case, right???? Is that light being reflected into the lens? Very curious.

Glad that the shoot went awesome! Good luck on Mark's shoot.

edit......

I was just checking out the Red on the Sled and was curious how it handled and if your Steadican Op liked the V-16....

THEN I saw THIS!

 That's a lot of weight down there!

Yes it was very interesting. I believe it all started with not having the right plate or something from RED. Eventually Matt's dad had to manufacture something, which I think in turn effected the whole rig. In order to get the right balance in the end, they had to add more weight. Matt's dad handled the Stedi-cam... man he rocks!

His Dad!!! Cool. (I wish my dad was that cool.)

So, what about the lens on that Red looking like a film projector? Any explanation for that or do I have to wait until my first Red experience?

We could tell you, but then we would have to kill you!

These aren't the droids you're looking.... there is no light coming out of the RED!!!

It is not the spoon that bends....

hee hee... well, I would have been floored if there actually WAS light being emitted from the RED (other than the glow of the halo around it!).

That would be pretty sweet, maybe a built in ring light? My dad created a great plate which we used to hook up the Red to the Tripod and Steadicam and the plate allowed us to turn the Cavision rod setup backwards, which allowed us to use the Redrock Follow Focus (courtesy of Shane Foster "Rope the Moon")

The ability to have the low light capability of the Red and the amazing DOF control blew my mind. It also has a nice weight to it making handheld shots much less jittery. It was interesting shooting with a camera that is worth more than my combined possessions. It definitely is worth it though. The 18-50mm lens did great and it is not fast in comparison to others out their like some superspeeds, but handled the light beautifully. Those guys at Red have me hooked for sure. When I can afford it, I will buy one no questions asked. It is that amazing to work with.:thumbup::thumbsup::grin::beer:

We will see how it does at the final shoots this Friday and Saturday.

HOLY CRAP!
I just saw the first images from our shoot in Red Cine and I am so pleased and excited. I will post some Uncorrected grabs in the next 30 minutes.
