GH5 Problems with my DC-GH5 in Adobe Premiere

Page 33 in the manual. For AVCHD and MP4 FHD the files size limit is 4G. For MP4 set to UHD, or MP4 ( LPCM) or MOV there is no file size limit for SDXC cards ( they are formatted exFAT ) but of course there is for SDHC ( they are FAT 32 ). Just set my GH5 to check this so will report back later.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh okay! Thank you... That makes sense then. I'm going to try LPCM as recommended and get full length files and better quality. Thank you very much. :)

Confirmed that mp4 is limited to 4G files. So you will have to move to 100Mbps MP4 LPCM or MOV to get a single file. I expect the MP4 FHD at 20Mbps is just an MP4 alternate to AVCHD. So getting AAC audio rather than Dolby for AVCHD.

I use a free application called teracopy to copy files over, even if the explorer counter went up to 100%, it does not check for a perfect copy afterwards. With teracopy (and anything else that is similar) it will go through the file after and check that it is exactly the same. This has saved my ass on productions before, where it found data corruption in a card that was not immediately obvious and I could ask for the backup from our sound guy.

Your issue with still having the gaps seems like you are still viewing the buggy files in premiere, the cache may store them so its best to empty the cache and reimport the files into premiere.

I would recommend you use a higher bitrate codec, the GH5 has wonderful codecs and you are using something more compressed than DSLRs from 2012. Your PC will handle the 100Mbit codec like a charm.

Thank you very much. I will try teracopy! Much appreciated... Is the pro version any better or faster?
