Problem with Log and Transfer in Final Cut Pro 6

I have been using Log and Transfer to log my p2 files we shot this past weekend on the HVX. After I have the ones logged I want to keep, I select those clips and drag them to my bin. The problem is, only about half of those clips show up in the bin. The ones that don't show up, I can watch them fine in log and transfer, but they won't show up in the bin, no matter how many times I try to drag them over. All shots are 720p24pn.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
Brad

Are you dragging directly to the bin or using the Add Selected to Queue command? That's the proper way to do it.

I just noticed that in the status box of the log and transfer queue there is a red exclamation that when I hover over, says "error unknown". Am I doing something wrong?

I see an earlier post that has the problem and Barry suggests checking "remove duplicate frames", but I don't know where that option is in 6. I remember it in 5 when you imported P2 files. Is there another workaround?

Hey Noah,

Yea the lastclip.txt is all there for each contents folder. I just had to buy P2 Log. Kind of a bummer because I would much rather use the log and transfer in FCP. Super weird.

I'm having the same problem only with certain clips. You said you had to buy p2 log, does this mean there's no other way?

Did you locate the "remove duplicate frames" preference choice?
I found "remove advanced pulldown and/or duplicate frames from firewire sources" In the capture preset editor. It was already checked. This is the first time I've actually imported p2 cards from previously transferred cards.(they're sitting in their MXF format on the hard drive.) I've never encountered a problem when importing from the p2 store or directly from the camera.

I just read a post on a quebecois site (Final Cut MTL Index du Forum -> Panasonic HVX-200 | P2) that said he was experiencing the same problem. My french isn't great but it sounds like he re-installed 'compressor' applied all the updates and now everything works fine. I'll give it a shot.

I am having same problem. I first tried transferring direct from P2 store as I have done many times. That did not work, so I tranfered them to one of my internal drives. That did not work. I am dead in the water looking at that red exclamation mark.

I cannot import anything using log and transfer, even existing P2 files that I imported previously. I think FCP is corrupted and I may have to install. It is also shutting down frequently

log and transfer??? issues sound vs no sound

This past weekend I worked with friends on a project and used the Panasonic HVX 200. My friend has shot and edited with the P2 cards before .

We shot and downloaded all information to an external drive using my friends macbook Pro. We then made copies of all files to three different drives.
Friend with macbookpro was able to log and transfer files without problem. another friend who just got a new mini was also able to transfer with no problem.

i on the other hand have not been able to transfer. I recently updated to Snow Leaprd and to FCP 6.0 on both a macbook 13inch black, and on my 24 inch imac.
I tried it out on my macbook first. (and had same result with the imac), i can open FCP and i can view and hear all the files in Log and Transfer preview window, however when i click on the 'add selection to queue' or add clip to queue' buttons, it shows the file in the queue list and a dark circle with arrows turning appears, however there is no progress in the progress bar across the top of the window and then it stops. if i click in the queue window, the dark arrowed circle turns to a red stop sign shape with an exclamation point as mentioned above, and mouse over reveals the words, "error: no data"
Nothing has been added to my bin. I can however download the files we did as tests of speed. The files have no audio attached and that is all i can see that would be different. But the video of the slow mo or sped up test, comes into the bin, but anything with audio attached does not.
Has anyone found a solution to this problem, as it seems the one in this thread is similar. I read about someone able to transfer the mxf files to anothe file and it working?
Would appreciate any ideas of what i might need to look for to make the transfer possible. strage to have two computers do it without a problem but then the two that I have both have the same issue. i have heard the macbook may not be the right graphic card but the iMac has ATI Radeon and plenty of memory and space, so it should be good...am i missing a setting somewhere?. thanks for any ideas.
