Problem with Color Flickering on 7d footage

Try manual white balance and turn off the auto lighting optimizer, see if either of those affect it.
it wasn't the lighting optimizer because i had that turned off as soon as I received the camera. I'm really thinking it has to do with auto white balance. kaibol suggested locking it up pushing the * button.

i have nothing to add about the camera's performance but i'd like to point out how disappointed i was not to get to listen to Quicksilver messenger service- happy trails, after watching him carefully select it and put it on.
haha, don't worry, we had a good listen to it after shooting. sorry you missed out. ; )

about 4 second in on this video, the out of focus albums on the right side of the screen start flickering in color, from white to blueish-gray. Can anybody tell me what the source of the problem here? It's also apparent at 1:37 on his forehead.

Thanks to jshaw300 for pointing this out.

I just came across this same error and interestingly enough it happened with the same color.
Today I was shooting an actor speaking, talking head with out of focus beige wall behind them.
The beige wall kept flickering darker every 4 or 5 seconds like it was going through an exposure shift.

This happened across 10 takes with two different actors while going through rehearsals.
Flicker appears on original h264 file, also on prores transcodes.
FYI - my cam has not had the firmware update yet.

I have gone through my setting on camera and everything in the menus is switched to off.
Also I shot with manual nikon AIS lenses. WB was on tungsten.
Wall was originally egg shell color but became beige under halk k tungsten thru umbrella

Can you make it happen repeatedly?

And have you updated your firmware to 1.09?

This would be very useful info to know. If you're still running 1.07 or 1.08 and you can make the issue happen at will, then update the firmware to 1.09 and try again. I am speculating that this exact issue is the one referenced in the firmware update as a "rare color shift"; it'd be nice to know if it's what you're encountering and if it's indeed fixed.

Hi Barry, I would love to have time to run the tests, slammed with work at the moment. BTW - if anyone is interested, here is a file for download showing the codec/acquisition error.

History of this media
1) shot 1080p24
2) compressor to 720p prores
3) mpegstreamclip (crop to protect actress) exported to prores

EDIT - no scaling between steps 2) and 3) so its a crop of 720p

** old thread revival **
I just ran into this problem again and I'm running with latest firmware
Happens when there was a beige wall in the shot. Very little movement, in this case it was a girl standing there smiling (fashion shoot)

Beige wall changed exposure on and off, luckily it was on a take we didn't want.

Anyone else?
