I have a feeling I'm going to feel like a doofus when pricing is out and I see this table I made (and it's all wrong, and not by a little), but whatever, it's a little fun to guess.

I have a strong feeling the F55 will be about 35K, F5 about 22k.
The F5 recording being around 9k + media, and the RAW recorder for the F55 about 13-18K + media.
I honestly never believed that any camera could last in the market for over 5 years, but the RED ONE MX did it, and now looks like it will be the F55. I mean seriously, after that, what's next?
You must have a short memory. My Arri 35-3 was viable for 20+ years.
Short cinema camera lifespan is a new phenomenon.
Did you keep your 35-3? I loved operating that camera.
...I'm still holding on to my Aaton Xtera and A-Minima kits...
Yeah I still have it - and it's working on a music video this week![]()
SONY,
Soon, Only Not Yet
Four is an unlucky number in Japanese.Unless the F3 and the FS700 migrate forward in terms of firmware and specs, the gap is going to be very great between the F3 and the F5.
There is a reason there is no F4, and I want to know what it is.
My guesses:

With respect, she'll shoot with whatever camera Stephen Spielberg chooses...I was at a conversation with Bonnie Curtis the producer of Jurasic Park, Albert Nobb, etc at AFM. She said she shot her last two movies on the Alexa and is never going back to film. I still think of my F3 as a baby Alexa.

In Japan the number 4 means death
Also did I read / hear somewhere that the F3 will still be kept in the current product line-up?
Remember Nikon F4? No "death" there...
Sony says the F3 is staying in the product line.
