I'm anxiously awaiting Machete, so much so that if I had to pick one between the choices of Sin City 2 or Machete, I'd take Machete.

I'm with you on that one, I thought Sin City 2 was shelved so you don't really have a choice?
 
wow, I say I like RR's movies and all heck breaks loose :D

I really do enjoy his films... sorry :) But anyway... you all can just enjoy your wrongness ;) JK!

Seriously, Danny's what makes RR watchable.

A year ago I got into a conversation about RR & El Mariachi with some studio wigs.

I asked them if they liked it and they said "yes, it's great for a $7k indie movie", I asked them if they watched it, they looked at me strange and said "yes, we watched it several times".

I said no you didn't because you can't see bad acting in a language you don't understand, you can't see all the errors and how crappy it was shot because you are reading the subtitles the whole time giving the movie an even faster pace to it. It's a piece of crap and you can't tell because of the foriegn language and reading the subtitles.

I told them to go watch it with the subtitles turned off and the audio turned off, one of them did and said "yea, it's pretty bad, a 10 year old could do a better job, I never noticed how bad it was until I watched it that way"

Funny how things work but it was enough to get him a movie after that one and so on.

I like RR's work he did to make El Mariachi not the actuall movie but go watch it with the subtitles and audio off and you will say CRAP! I have seen better shot dvxuser movies that were made for $300, and talk about one cheap ass lens(s), you don't notice how bad this movies is because your reading the subttles and hearing anticipation with the score.

Briliant move for an indie to keep people from noticing how bad it is.

BTW I think they had $257k in it after the studio cleaned up and re did the sound and added the subttles and other mics stuff.

Funny. I thought it was entertaining for what it was, but I showed it to my mom, who only spoke Spanish, and she thought it was the worst thing she'd ever seen.
