Post count is back?

I think they got rid of it to deter people posting for the sake of posting.

At least that's how I remember it happening. I think it came back when the update was made.

I still lurk here, just don't post much. But that is my understanding of the situation. Who knows - I've been wrong before.

i just checked my post count. i'm 78 out of 45,339. if my math is correct, my life is more pathetic than 99.38 percent of the people who post here. :Drogar-Dum(DBG):

just kidding, brandon. :)

But then how do I get my false sense of superiority among the noobies?! Grrrr.

Just talk about how pixels is what matters or chip size if they have the pixels or the codec they use is not a "pro" codec if the have the chip size or their NLE is comsumer if they have the codec or post count if they have a "pro" editor.... or PC vs Mac....

If all else fails, just say "You suck."

:)

I don't mind the post count being under the avatar. Just as long as people don't think it really means all that much. For me, it just means that I've been around long enough to have no idea what I'm talking about.

The one place it seems to make the most sense is in the Marketplace. You can tell right away how active someone is without jumping through hoops.

Well, I don't really think clicking on someone's avatar is jumping through hoops, but to each his own :)

they are back b/c I had to revert a lot of tables to be compatible with the new version of the software I just upgraded to the other night.

Haven't gotten around to changing the code to make them go away...

Jason

HA HA!

Lucky for ya'll I've been offline all week! For a GOOD reason though :) which I'll hopefully be able to share tomorrow!

The real reason the post counts were originally removed was b/c some people took/take them too seriously, put too much weight into them, and it led to a lot of fluff on the boards.
