Besides movie mode ofcourse; it doenst matter what shooting mode I set it to : manual, auto ca ,av etc it doenst pop open when I press the flash button next to the eos 7d logo.
So I went in to the menu and the camera thinks that there's is a external flash attached to the hotshoe.
I remembered that I had attached a shotgun mic on the hot shoe two days ago and I had to tighten it so it wouldn't fall of .
Anybody know of a remedy ?
" The microswitch in a 7D hotshoe is under the right hand rail. It's actually a pin thingey - orientated/moving vertically - hidden below the thin springy stainless insert, which is itself under the rail. First check that the springy SS piece is not holding the pin depressed (as it would if a flashgun were inserted). If still no joy - either return for Canon servicing - or search web for instructions on rebuilding a 20D hotshoe (on a 20D it's under the L hand rail). Good luck "
