DNathan - I think we might soon see some changes (Probably not with FCS2) with FCS3 once Snow Leopard is released. I would not be surprised to see an update soon after including more support for AVCHD in FCS.

Vegas 9. Pretty unstable at the moment. It's a shame because I love that program. Might give a spin to Edius Neo 2 since it came with the camera.

Unstable in regards to AVCHD, or just in general?

I'm using 8.0c, and everything is ok. But I can't edit AVCHD natively or it all goes haywire.

I import with 8.0c, edit with Vegas 9, transcode with AVCHD2HQ or Proxy stream. Not enough computer mojo for editing native avchd on vegas at the moment.

I use vegas pro 9a...It works alot better than 9. However I use the 64bit version. I have found no need to transcode. I use i7 with win7 64bit..12gig of tripple channel ram. I get a little stutter on the first few frames during playback..but the "a" update fixed the 60p issues. No crashes no green frames.

Been playing around with Premiere CS4 4.1 and it's pretty good actually. Some things I really miss about Edius... Like mouse wheel functions... zooming timeline and playback with wheel... Mostly the wheel functions that make Edius VERY fast. It's taken me a few hours just getting premiere set up for dual monitors also. Edius 5 just plops itself across two monitors if you have them. I love the integration with Encore and after effects..

At first Vegas 9 was pretty buggy. Just look at all the post in the Vegas forum over at creative cow. I experienced a few myself and quite a few random program just vanish.

9a is better and AVCHD is native which is nice. As skilled mentioned, a bit of stutter on the beginning of a clip, but then it's full frame full quality. Still debating the need for trans coding or not...

I'm quite sure a version 9b will soon be out.

Er, because you cannot start two instances of Vegas 9 simultaneously?

I run 8.0 just to import the avchd and 9.0 to edit - at the same time... Obviously not while rendering... well maybe thats why my video card melted to pieces.
