Pmw F5 & F55

Yesyesyes, very nice specs.
Now:
- where is the footage?
- where are the prices (i'm very curious about the lenses)
 
Has anyone else noticed the lack of XLR inputs? This must be a double sound system only camera - or am I missing something?

edit - OK, there's some kind of XLR attachment, not seen so far.

I dont think the new F5 threatens Epic that much, but do you know how many c500 they are going to sell this year? 0 :tongue:
 
And if the pricing is F5 = 20k $ + Recorder 19k $ it´s about the price of an epic before its price is reduced. So if epic becomes 10k cheaper it´s still a very good investment.

The 2k $ Update for the FS700 to take the 19k $ recorder is a bad joke. Noone would ever do that!

It largely depends on price. I had a play with a C500 last week and saw the demo film in 4K. It's really very good, but the price needs to come down and they need to add functionality to the internal recording options.
 
According to me it will be:

F55+4k Recorder+1 media – 42k USD
F5 body no ext. Recorder - 19k-21k USD

P.S.: Don’t forget that Sony is listening and that is how it will be apprized !
 
Will there be a dedicated side handgrip with a zoom rocker to work the SCL-Z18X140 zoom lens? Or does the lens come with its own handgrip?

I'd like to see pics of the audio module. It would be very cool if it had a slot in for a wireless!
 
the F55 price will probably be closer to F65 than F5. and the F5 would be more competitive to C500 than F3. i think that's much more realistic.

Sony arrived to the party with a split-a-man-in-F'n-half broad sword and cut the competition down.

if the system price undercuts anything from Canon, RED or Arri, I've found my dream camera in spades.
 
I'm sorry, can someone explain the excitement here? A $20k body that will require a separate $20k recorder for 4K, and requires new proprietary storage cards for the higer rate fps? So arguably a $50k package? I'm just not getting it..

It seems Sony will have the F3 still in their F line so it's pretty safe to assume the F5 will be priced around $20K or they will lower the price on the F3.

I would like to see Sony putting 50mb/s 4:2:2 internal on the F3 to really blow the C300 and then having the F5 to wipe out the C500.
