Pmw F5 & F55

Wow, Sony really have gone all-out with these. They've taken pretty much every feature we love from Alexa, Epic, the F3 and FS700 and - and packaged them all into a single, elegant, unified tool.

So bravo Sony, I honestly didn't think you had it in you!

Now the really interesting part comes, how are these things going to be priced?

BIG NEWS!!!
"F65 will be able to capture 8K, 6K up to 120fps w/ firmware update! Red can’t compete, though I think it’s not about resolution! #fb"
thats why F55 is an Epic competitor. F65 is a different league!

Nice. Looks like they borrowed a lot of features from Red and Arri, and added a lot of things that we've been asking for.

Now, is it affordable?

I know they won't but they keep throwing around game changer. Make the f5 close to 10 grand and you truly have a game changer. Dumb dream but here's to hoping.

Side menu button config looks alexa... many red influences.

Sony stepped it up big time. I'm loving the camera and for one reason... GLOBAL SHUTTER. This should be standard by now.

This camera looks great on paper.... and I love seeing the new Fujinon Cabrio on it! :)

The F5 has a upgrade path for internal 2K recording on SxS cards.

Actually it looks more like the F65 side menu.

Really like the form factor - looks like a real camera instead of Canon's C-series that looks like a melted blob.
Also - from a sheer design standpoint - it looks a bit "90s Walkman" design to me - would prefer a bit more industrial/tactical for my taste,
but with things like global shutter and Bayern layout of the 65 chip - I could not care less about the design of the box.

The only thing that I'm missing are XLR inputs - can't believe you need a separate module for that.
Rest of the hardware layout is excellent
