Please recommend me some macro lenses...

Thanks for the suggestion coddida! I have been looking at that lens and have been reading lots of good things about it. Just wondering if there were any others worth looking at.. Maybe some old nikkor vintage macro lenses?
 
Canon 50mm Macro f/2.5 is said to be one of the sharpest out there. The price is also good.
 
had no idea canon even made a 50mm macro.. just checked the price and it's extremely affordable. I have yet to use a macro lens so maybe starting off with a cheaper priced one would be a better idea. Do you have any experiences with this canon 50mm macro?
 
It's as sharp as the 85/1.2 and almost as sharp as the original 200/1.8 for stills from my experience. I haven't tried it with video much yet. It's pretty sharp but no opinion on color rendition yet. Being an older macro the AF is not fast but that's no concern for video.

Canon also has a 180/3.5L Macro that's also nice to get you close to the action but physically well away. It might be out of your price range for now though.
 
I purchased the 60mm canon 2.8 macro and it is probly one of the sharpest lenses I've ever used.
 
Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who gave their input. I still haven't made up my mind yet but thanks again for atleast giving me some good ideas.
