Everything was recording and uploading p2 cards just fine.
at our last shot of the day, we kept getting this error: FILES MAY BE CORRUPT OR INCOMPLETE. why is it happenning now? please help>

If you want a meaningful answer, you'll have to provide some details. What software are you using, what version do you have etc.
 
I need help! Can I buy a simply external HD to use with the HVX? Or do I have to buy the focus firestone FS-100. The price is far cheaper. And what Mb/s transfer rate I need? I'd like to have 100gb external storage for the camera for around $200. Is this possible?
 
You cannot record to a standard "dumb" external hard drive directly, you need something that understands the codecs and realtime protocols being used by the camera. That means using something like the FS-100, or software running on a Mac or PC.

The camera can however offload P2 cards to standard "dumb" external hard drives by itelf. You need a SBP2-compliant Firewire drive, and the camera must be taken out of recording mode and put into MCR mode -- it can then copy the contents of a P2 card to the external hard drive.
 
How are you erasing / formatting the cards after dumping. We use P2Genie, but there have been a couple of occassions where I've had to remount the card in the camera or in a P2Store to really clean it out.
