T2i Planned 2 miunte short using T2i+Cinemorph filter

okay, update time

filming will now be taking place on the weekend of the 14th-15th of May, it would have been this weekend but its due to rain all weekend....

wardrobe and the overall look of our main character has been sorted out and he's sourcing the clothes himself. Another of the team from 'The War at Home' (our WW2 web series: link ) is coming on board to help with our vehicle situation, his dad and grandad have a collection of cars and he'll be providing a list from which I can pick the one I like the best and he'll be acting as our driver on the day.

So always seems to happen this little "test short" is growing into a little monster of its own....but it's a good feeling, and I can't wait to get out there and shoot it....

oh i also got my viewfinder and it works near perfectly, i misjudged the eye distance a bit so i have to have my eye back a bit from the viewfinder but it works well enough for now....

here's a pic of how the viewfinder came out, as well as all my other gizmo's i'll have on my camera, clockwise from top left: rode videomic, cinemorph filter, variable nd filter, mp3 player (for agc disabling tone), viewfinder, agc disabling cable

righto its finally happening, I'll be filming my short on sunday, very excited

- I've worked it out completely, shot for shot, and then broken that down into a shooting schedule and sent that off to my co-conspirator for him to study...
- run time wise it should be somewhere between 3-4 minutes, it expanded a little since my initial idea, but since I've planned it out how i have I'm fairly confident i won't have any space issues (49 minutes of filming should be enough.....hopefully...lol)
- we've hit a few snags getting a car for the short though, our initial one became unavailable and then our secondary went the same way....we're currently running around trying to find another one, but if we cant find one we'll just have go with the actors car.....i wanted a 70's type of car but at this stage anything will do..lol
- spent the afternoon mixing up some fake blood, it was initially a bit runny but has thickened up some.....hopefully it'll thicken up a lot more between now and then....

now i just need to charge everything up, clear off the card and get all my crap together and I'll be good to go....

Did you get to use the Cinemorph filter? If so, what ya think? Any good streaking? Was the light loss too much?

Yeh I did have it on there for filming, didn't get much in the way of streaking, mostly cos it was daytime I think, there were one or 2 shots where the sun did streak into shot a bit...

as for light loss it wasn't that much of an issue as it helped with getting it exposed right in the daylight, on top of the light loss for the cinemorph I was still stopping down about 6 -7 stops with the fader nd I had on there....

also at some point during filming I must have accidentally turned the cinemorph when adjusting the fader nd, so in some of the later shots the bokeh and streaks are on an angle, which ended up looking kind of cool....

looks kool . i like the grading. focus is crazy soft though...i guess you'll get the hang of it in time though. u had that and a fader on there...ugh....that can only lead to soft images. the fader nd really sucks...but is very convenient.

yeah I was a bit stranded with the focus, my home made shape ways viewfinder didn't really work as well 'out and about' as I'd hoped it would (and as it turns out I somehow managed to lose it during the day....lol) and I was left shielding the screen with the brim of my hat and checking it as best I could after each take.....

I'll definitely be saving up for a better option in future
