*This is all documentary, you know it right? And documentary is not a movie, and its not cinematic (what is most important)."
If I choose to watch Glee on it that's my choice (I won't but you get my point!)![]()
This is quite possibly one of the stupidest things I have read on the internet
surely there are more interesting things to talk about in the world than this? Shaking my head at some of the things said here.
"Documentary is not a movie" Are you s**tting me???
haters will always hate. defending myself and my work depresses me and takes too much out of me hence i spend little time here these days. BTW imdb shows but the tiniest fraction of work that I actually do.
So basically i do what i enjoy doing and that is my work. most important thing. if it is not good enough for some, that is is fine and to be expected. c'est la vie!
BTW I also bought a new TV, it's big and what I choose to watch on it is up to me! If I choose to watch Glee on it that's my choice (I won't but you get my point!)![]()

Its irrelevant what you or i like, ive seen only one short film from Philip and id like to see more, where is hate here from me ?Seriously, I'll end up turning off most of the new narrative films Ill see on Netflix within the first 20 minutes, but I'll always give a doc more time to draw me in (for some unfair reason).
Please don't insult documentary filmmakers by telling them that their work is less legitimate than what passes for movies in theaters nowadays.
The claim was that documentary films are less cinematic and do not require traditional cinematic techniques to tell their story compared to a narrative film. While its true that there are some very visually rich documentaries, I'm sure you'll admit that most don't employ the same techniques a narrative film will require. You'll also rarely find a documentary that really cares about the quality of the visuals, lighting, staging the interviewers, etc.
I think I have seen enough tests to last three life times. It's safe to say any modern camera is plenty capable of producing great images. If people spent as much time on their script as they did with doing tests, the internet wouldnt be flooded with so much crap.
