good stuff steve, i really want to see a fully organize short out of you soon! haha

ryanschindler, i would suggest heading over to the 35mm adapter section of DVXUser and all your questions will be answered in the stickies.
really quickly, i forget how much the new sgpro is, what it does is allow you to attach 35mm slr lenses to your camera and allows you to shorten your depth of field, and if it is worth it is up to you.
but really, go look in the 35mm adapter section, there is just a boatload of info over there (main page of dvxuser, just scroll down...)

Thanks banksie. One day I will make something cool, one day.

My SGpro was about 1100 after shipping, but it was the previous model. I don't think the new one is that much more, which is pretty cool.

Sweet little short Steven, I love how clean you get your image. And i'm a big fan of the use of heavy contrast, you certainly now your DVX well.

Nice work here, Steven. This is a very hopeful piece that blends warm, tranquil images with colder, more dense atmospheres to create a fairly comprehensive viewing of a diverse city.

Even though the shots of the "931" are terrific, the jump cuts get a little redundant for a moment because they don't introduce much more than a different perspective of the brass moldings. I wouldn't necessarily cut them, but it's just something to consider. Same goes for "smart."

It's interesting the way you present your material. Through the ethereal music (possibly Enya?) and the colors you chose to accentuate, the piece shies away from displaying a wastrel environment in the pessimistic manner that many filmmakers (myself included sometimes) might. That's quite refreshing.

Very pleasurable viewing, Steven.

Thanks for the compliments lawsuit boy. Since I started shooting again, I really don't care that much about editing so I just throw all the shots I got that were not really shaky to music and export. It was Enya, you guessed right.

nice video, it's cool you now have your own website!
I've been thinking of making one too...
now can I ask you how much it cost you to make/keep your website?

ryvac- Thanks. I can't remember how much the site was. I got the smallest package from godaddy, and I already had my name registered with a different site. I think godaddy can register the name for five bucks or less, and I think the 10gb hosting I got was 56 bucks for the year.

that's cool. I'll check godaddy. Thanks

btw, I have another question.
your video is shown as widescreen (16:9)
now did you shoot squeez and export it as 16:9
if so are you experience the streched image???? (because the DVX shoots 4:3)

I shoot 4x3 with the DVX. I edit and export as 4x3 as well. I crop off the top and bottom so it ends up being 720x340 instead of 720x480. I take of a little extra (I think normal letterbox footage is like 720x360 maybe. I just like the way it looks since I always shot 16x9 before I had the adapter. It also makes the files smaller since I keep uncompressed versions of all my videos. So instead of the 4x3 video being 9GB on my hard drive, its like 5GB which is pretty cool considering nothing special is in the parts of the video I crop off.

that's cool. I'll check godaddy. Thanks

the squeeze mode on the dvx100b and A models do shoot 16:9.

if ur talking about the 100 original...then no.
