74Mbps m-jpeg looks great, I much prefer it to H.264, it looks a lot more analogue/organic. How does it look at ISOs above 1250? say at 2000 and 2500. A manual control and 24p hack would make this very tempting over the 5D. What's the aliasing and moire like?
I wonder . . . this is about the same price body only as the 60D.
M-JPEG vs H264
Better ergonomics vs Better? compression?
I didn't see too much skew in those clips, and AF I can live without. Didn't use it on my HVX, don't use it on my 550D
Waffling a bit, just thinking out loud.
Could this be a viable alternative for someone (Not me) not comitted to Canon?

i think we have to wait until the new firmware is online, which is coming soon (mid-november).
it would be awesome, if vitaly could enable full manual aperature controls.
Very interested to see what you can do with it, Vitaliy. I've always had an soft spot for Pentax and like using the old prime lenses I have. With it's high datarate (and some people prefer the frame-by-frame m-jpeg codec) the K-5 could potentially be a good starting point camera for a hack?
Cheers.
I for one would support the bejeezus out of this. I love mjpeg and that it shoots in 25p is a blessing for me. All that's missing for me is manual control.
