I have a PC laptop with p2 drivers and viewer installed. I use to copy the P2 data via USB cable but i'd like to take advantage of the pcmcia slot. When i insert the P2 card into the pcmcia slot.... the computer doesnt read the card?!?

Do i need any other drivers or software for it to work? another software? Also is the data transfur faster threw pcmcia then by USB?

K. First make sure the laptop is plugged in (sometimes power saving turns off the pcmcia slot by default)

Next, uninstall the drivers you installed.

Next, format a p2 card in camera, then insert it into the laptops pcmcia slot.

Then, run the p2 driver installation with the p2 card in the laptops pcmcia slot.

That is probably the problem you are having, is that you installed the drivers without a p2 card in the laptop.

Yes, the times will be much faster. 8 gig cards offload in 4-5 minutes for me. so, about 2x-5x realtime, depending on the shooting mode you are transferring.

yes im using XP,

So re-install the P2 drivers with the P2 card in the slot? I rember when i installed the drivers from the past i didnt see any option or wat ever for the pcmcia slot thing-ma-gig. I guess having it in there will activate and make it work?!?

Il'l try that...

Don't guess -- follow the instructions if you want this to work.

Don't put the card in the slot until the installation program tells you to insert it, you don't want Windows to install some default device driver that doesn't know how to talk to the card.
