pany g6 ...gh2 replacement !

Yeah, this would make a damn fine upgrade to the GH2 OR the G5. Well done by Panasonic. No crippling the video on this one, like they have on some other non GH cameras.

The other thing I like is that this is the GH2 sensor, which was already good and controlled on the moire/aliasing front...but has a new processor as well to hopefully be even better than the GH2 in other areas.

Interesting. It has peaking, whereas even the GH3 does not, unless I'm mistaken. GH3 does still have the high bitrate modes though. I wonder if the hdmi is recordable? Curious to see what pricing will be like.

Yeah, they have to separate the GH3 somehow...
Build quality, the high bit rate modes, controls.

But for a GH2 upgrade without going all the way up to a GH3 price, this is cool. Lots of stuff to like...new more responsive high res touch LCD, OLED VF, Peaking, 60P at 1080, stop motion along with time lapse, 7 fps in photos

...well, that didn't stop a few people from making films with the gh2. I agree the nikons probably will have a nicer image, but this kicks arse with mirrorless features. If nikon released a mirrorless with m43 mount based around the toshiba sensor I'd buy it in a heartbeat. But you know they won't. Not even with a fmount. So if you want to shoot a locked down, then the nikon would be a good choice regardless you've got the aperture changing problem, but if you want a multi-faceted hybrid do it all, then this might be a lot of peoples solution.

This looks like it could be a great B camera for current GH users. I am very curious to see the focus-peaking in action.

A very nice GH2 update. If it gets hacked, there's no reason for GH3 to exist (unless you DO need a w/sealed body)

And yes, it does have ETC. It even does 60p in ETC (which GH3 sadly doesn't; not to mention focus peaking...).
