Pansonic Customer Service - A Camera Odyssey

I think they need to admit *why* you required the use of a "loaner" (read: rental camera).

Once they admit that it was a direct result of failures on *their* part, I'd like to see how they argue that *you* are responsible for shouldering the cost...

Glad everything was settled !! Yes, Jan is very helpful and watching over us kids here in this forum. I always got very prompt and helpful answers from her EVERYTIME.

Well to be fair - I asked for a loaner from day one. I didn't ask for it because my camera took a long time to repair. In fact, When I got the loaner I thought I was only going to have it for a few days, it wound up that I had it for a little over a month.

But - my point is - I asked for a loaner camera because I could not afford to be without a camera at the end of July. I had too many shoots scheduled, and canceling them would have been disasterous.

So, personally, I don't have a big problem paying for a loaner camera.
I haven't read the fine print on the HVX warranty, but I doubt if it says anything about Panasonic furnishing you with a replacement while your camera is repaired.

So, while I understand where you're coming from Max, at the time you have to keep in mind that no one involved realized my camera was going to be gone for over a month.
In fact, thats why I overnighted the camera to them - the original ideal plan was that I was going to ship it to them on Monday and hopefully get it back by Friday of that week. But...you know what they say about the best laid plans....

THE GRANDE FINALE -

I just got off the phone with the Panasonic shipping department and they have refunded the shipping charges from UPS's screwup...

So, with my camera fixed... the loaner camera shipped back... and those charges refunded....

This odyssey is now offically over.
