any help?

thanks!!!

I have the same problem now... I also have fcp 6.0.6, but mine was actually working fine up until last week. I don't know what happened.

I dont know how repair permissions, or trash the FCP preferences files! sorry I'm new at this been doing a lot of reading but it will be a lot of help if you gide me in the right direction thanks!!!

I just found this:

Once a week, or whenever you upgrade an application, or whenever you upgrade your operating system, or whenever you have a crash, or when your Mac takes longer than about 30 seconds to shut down, do the following:
1) Restart your computer holding the SHIFT key down.
2) When the blue screen appears, let go of the Shift key (notice the words, "Safe Boot" that appear on the screen)
3) When your system boots, go to Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility
4) Open "Disk Utility"
5) Select your boot disk
6) Run "Repair Permissions"
7) When done, restart your computer

Trash Preferences
Preference files get corrupted during a crash, force quit, or some other natural disaster. When preference files get hosed, Final Cut loses a great deal of its stability. To regain it's equilibrium, do the following:
1) Go to: Users/[your user name]/Library/Preferences
2) Drag, "com.apple.FinalCutPro.plist" to the trash
3) Scroll down to the Final Cut Pro folder
4) Drag, "Final Cut Pro 4.0 Preferences" to the trash
5) Drag, "Final Cut Pro POA Cache" to the trash

When you trash preferences, you will lose all Favorite motions, transitions and effects; the list of your recent projects and any custom window and button arrangements that were not saved to disk. Note: you DON'T lose your project files, simply the list of them in the "Open Recent" menu.
Also, when you trash preferences, you need to trash all three as a group. Don't just trash one.

Disable Air Port. (retarded but it worked for me)
Install the silkypikwhatever dvd. (same, but still worked)

(My guess on the Air port is that, depending on who is on your network it might try to check everyone's drive or something, cause right now I operate with airport but there's no computer on my network and it works.)

Just a thought. Have you altered the files or folder in any way? FCP needs the original file structure in the Private folder for Log & Transfer to work. Have you tried copying this Private folder to your drive and then importing from that?

try putting the SD card from your GH1 into a USB card reader, put the reader in a spare USB port then in Log and Transfer if it doesn't pop up automatically drag the Reader's disk image (from the desktop) into Log and Transfer window..

Does the card itself show up on your desktop?

If so then I believe the clips will automatically show up in the L&T window.

If you are copying the files from the card to your computer you need to copy the entire AVCHD folder somewhere and then open that directory in th L&T window.

And you are using Log and Transfer and NOT Log and Capture correct?

The card is detected on the desktop. Still doesn't show in log and transfer.
I copy the whole "private" folder and point to it. Still doesn't detect files in log and transfer.

I'm using log and transfer. It doesn't even let me use log and transfer because I set it to a non controllable device.

I logged and transfered before with no problems. I don't know what happened.
