$229 at Costco with a coupon.

Takes a stock HMC150 SDHC card and plays back beautifully.

Pretty click.

I've tested it with 24p and 60 at 720.

Beautiful images.

David. Very nice find. The monitors will do the same and some of them are cheap for sure. I think I have a few more purchases before this gets bought.. but it's on the list

David

Does it have true continues play ,by that I mean if you recorded 2 formats ( framerate & resolution ) does it play all or do you have to go back to some menu and change the playback format like the hmc 150 ?
Thanks.

You get a screen which grabs the SDHC card's meta data.

A list shows you the day the footage was shot and the aspect ratio and frame rate.

Highlight the day you want to view and it will play that day. No need to change anything.

And it plays continuous from clip to clip and you can advance to the next clip using the control.

Don't have this machine, but I do have the Panasonic BD30 BD player, and it's great. I highly recommend one, or the newer one, for ease in playing back your chips.

It will not display time code.

There are no menus to scroll thru for playback, I just hit "OK" and it plays thru all clips. You cannot, on this one, select say, clip 7 only for playback. That's kind of a bummer.

Awesome I saw these and the LCD's at COSTCO and was wondering if it would handle the 150 cards and footage. Thanks David!

The best thing about the blu ray deck is that it will also play BDMV files from the 150 modified and burned in Toast.

Stupid question, since we're all talking HD here :), but is there any standard-def down-conversion in the player for AVCHD footage off the card? I just recently saw somewhere that this is possible, and it's an interesting idea for people who need to replace the old VHS camcorders that are dying off, that they've been clinging to for decades now because of the 2-hour record time and/or the instant playback of pulling a full-size VHS tape out of the camera and dropping it right into a VCR, but a lot of those people don't have HD monitors to play back on...

Also, and OK, I know this is a subforum dedicated to a Panasonic camera on a Panasonic-centric site, but would this work with any AVCHD camera? I'm thinking particularly of the Canon HF series, which are going to have a friendlier price tag than the HMC... (Not to mention that we're a direct Canon dealer, but not Panasonic. :) )

Whether I use my BD-35 blu-ray player or my Western Digital HD media player, the playing is very smooth, as far as I can tell, the exact quality you expect from HMC150 through HDMI cable.

The DMP-BD35 can do that with the composite connection.
