When first powering up, the Panasonic Adama will say
"There are those who believe that life here began out there, far across the universe, with tribes of humans who may have been the forefathers of the Egyptians, or the Toltecs, or the Mayans. That they may have been the architects of the Great Pyramids, or the lost civilizations of Lemuria, or Atlantis. Some believe that there may yet be brothers of man, who even now fight to survive somewhere beyond the heavens."

Also, the Adama will ship with Baltar lenses.

This is the point on Facebook where it's usually labelled "Only 70s kids will remember."

In other news, the long-running (almost 5 years) Sony F35 thread is up to 3018 posts. We've gotta kep this thread chugging along people!

I'ma gonna toss y'all out a free one:

If you look at te photos of the camera you can see on the top handle some spare mount points on the back for the LCD. The mount uses a standard 1/4"x20 socket with a ring of detents to keept the mount bracket from rotating. There are four points for this mounting: one on each side of the handle, in the front and in the back. The microphone holder uses the same mounting. So the LCD and/or the mike bracket can be attached at the front or rear of the camera. They can also flip sides. If the top handle is removed completely, both can be mounted directly to the top of the camera body to keep the rig small.

Discuss.

Or that newerish series where Starbuck is a woman.

Thoughtful design like this is what sets cameras apart. It's more than spec sheets. It's obsessive, detailed, small things that show the creators are either users, or get the users, and make a big difference to the overall tool. Hard to quantify, yet immensely easy to qualify after a week of working with a camera.
